IT'S TIME TO OPEN OUR ARMS AND OUR HEARTS
WHY NOW?
With the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, record numbers of people are living in vehicles, abandoned structures, shelters, and on the streets.
More than half those experiencing homelessness are in four states: California, Washington, New York and Florida.
Ending homelessness is a top national priority, with the goal to reduce homelessness by 25% by 2025. The White House has partnered with 5 major cities to fund solutions, including Los Angeles.
The lack of affordable housing, coupled with the increase in severe weather events, has created a perfect storm of urgency.
The time to act is now.
..AND WHY THIS STORY?
